Skills that match your e-bike, taught at your pace, for ages 50 plus.
E-bikes have brought a lot of us back to riding. They're also heavier and faster than the bikes we grew up on, and the skills that keep you upright — braking hard without skidding, controlling the bike at walking speed, swerving around a hazard — are rarely taught.
Ride Smart 50+ is a small-group, hands-on course for riders 50 and over, taught by Roger Bowles, Ed.D., a rider coach for 15 years.
You'll see your own progress. We measure your stopping distance and key skills at the start and end of the session, and check in by email at 60 and 90 days. Your answers, combined anonymously with other riders', help show what training does for e-bike riders.
Hybrid course (online module + hands-on session): $139
Online-only course: $19.99
Up to 7 riders per session, usually Monday afternoons 2–6 p.m., at American Legion Post 121 in Elm Mott, TX (722 Leroy Pkwy)
Bring your own e-bike; a helmet can be provided if you need one
